Toshiba’s New eConnect Product Allows its Multifunction Product Users to Print More Intelligently and Securely.

Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. a leading managed document services (MDS) and business printing solutions provider has unveiled its eConnect for Pharos Software for use throughout the company’s line of e-STUDIOTM multifunction products (MFPs).

Allowing for the deployment of print parameters through Toshiba’s award-winning e-STUDIO line, the eConnect for Pharos Software enables large organizations to significantly reduce the amount of paper its workforce uses. As a result, corporations, educational institutions and libraries are able to substantially reduce print and copy costs, foster eco-conscious printing and ensure that printing becomes more secure.

By integrating the eConnect for Pharos Software within Toshiba MFPs, organizations may also implement policies encouraging employees to print more responsibly and sustainably. Such a policy would require employees to swipe their badges in order to release print jobs performed using e-STUDIO devices.

Aside from eliminating environmental and dollar costs identified with unnecessary printing, the eConnect for Pharos Software alleviates security concerns associated with confidential documents that are unclaimed. The new eConnect product further allows organizations to better monitor, track and report departmental print output for accounting purposes.

“The introduction of eConnect for Pharos Software now enables our enterprise-level customers to print and copy more intelligently,” said Bill Melo, vice president of marketing, services and solutions at Toshiba America Business Solutions, Inc. “By incorporating the new connector throughout their e-STUDIO print fleet, organizations may also enhance their ecological leadership by creating a more sustainable workplace through the drastic reduction of print volume and waste.”

“When considering technology partners, we go to great lengths to ensure the relationship makes sense for both companies while ultimately having it benefit our respective customers,” said Tom Cody, vice president and general manager, major accounts business unit at Pharos Systems. “By partnering with an acknowledged innovator in the multifunction products segment as Toshiba, this is clearly the case.”
